Rehabilitation and Exercise Programs

At Synergy, we believe that active rehabilitation or therapeutic exercises are an important part of your treatment plan. Generally, the doctor will recommend a series of exercises and stretches that are for your specific problem areas.

We also are very passionate about physical fitness and are always here to support you with your personal fitness goals. Regular chiropractic care is very beneficial to athletic performance, whether it is running a marathon, swimming, golf, etc.

Core exercises are an important part of any rehabilitation or fitness program. What exactly are core exercises? And why are they so important? Here’s what you need to know about your core muscles-and how to get them in better shape.

Understanding your core

Your body’s core is the area around your trunk and pelvis. When you have good core stability, the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen work in harmony. Strong core muscles make it easier to do most physical activities-from swinging a golf club to getting a glass off the top shelf or bending down to tie your shoes. Weak core muscles can leave you susceptible to poor posture, lower back pain and muscle injuries.

Core exercises help you strengthen your core muscles. And it doesn’t take specialized equipment or an expensive gym membership to try core exercises. Any exercise that uses the trunk of your body without support counts. Think squats, push-ups and abdominal crunches. We will be happy to help you with a simple core exercise program at our clinic!

Pilates

Pilates is a gentle and effective rehabilitation modality, and can also be a hardcore workout. Pilates develops every aspect of physical fitness-

Strength, Flexibility, Coordination, Speed, Agility and Endurance

Pilates corrects posture and alignment, heightens body awareness, teaches correct muscle activation and promotes relaxation and the release of tension.
